Progressing on, Jarman (20) greyed out like this is a good advancement from Jarmandotted, Primer Apples, or Boring-boring. That said, I have begun with this in the past (a little bigger) with some success. This font is extremely similar to the font used by the Getty & Dubay books, however it does not introduce the detailed capitals at all. You will need to use another font for capitals - one like

  QUILTALIC'- if you want them the GD way. After you have compiled your sheet, you can then compress, expand & italicise your font as per your childs preference (using character spacing).

 

If your child wants to branch out into something more ‘fancy’ then having looked around, I think this font (learningcurve BV) is one of the nicest, with

(there\are\only\very\minor\differences\between\the\two).
